Skool vs Circle: choose around your weekly workflow

Both platforms combine community and learning features. Your decision should come from the experience you need to deliver and its total cost—not an affiliate recommendation alone.

When Skool belongs on your shortlist

If you want to test a small community with courses and scheduled sessions, compare the low fixed cost of Hobby with its higher transaction charge. The cheaper subscription is not automatically cheaper overall. Using the listed percentages for lower-value payments, the $90 monthly plan difference is offset at roughly $1,268 in monthly revenue; the shared $0.30 per-payment charge cancels out in this simplified comparison.

That calculation excludes other costs and higher-value Pro transactions. Run your own numbers before choosing a plan.

When to look more closely at Circle

If organising different member spaces and controlling the member journey are central to the offer, include Circle in your trial. Check the exact plan for any required automation rather than assuming every feature is available at the entry price. The advertised Professional price is based on annual billing, so compare the actual commitment as well as the monthly equivalent.

Run the same test on both

Create a welcome area, one learning resource, and one event. Invite a test member and ask them to find each without help. Then simulate a common support task such as changing access or locating a payment record. Record the steps and time involved rather than scoring platforms on a long feature checklist.

For the budget, include subscription, transaction and processing fees, extra tools, taxes where applicable, and your setup time. Confirm refund treatment and export options before moving a real community.

Our decision rule

Choose the platform that supports your actual weekly routine at a cost your small-launch scenario can carry. If both work, simpler administration may matter more than a feature you might use later. This is a comparison based on published information and our decision framework, not a hands-on product review.

Sources & limitations

Checked 1 November 2026. Prices, plan limits, payment terms, and eligibility can change. Dollar amounts are USD. Confirm the selected billing term and current fees before buying.

For Pro payments above the lower-value band, Skool lists a higher rate. Confirm your exact payment amount with Skool; this guide does not resolve the boundary wording in its fee documentation.
